Dear B1+ students,
I'd like to personally welcome you to the Summer Session 2017 and to the blog. As agreed upon in class, I will be posting the topics for writing via this blog and each student will sign into the blog using his Gmail account to post his writing.
Please be reminded that each student will post his own writings in his own words (individual writings). Collaboration among students in pairs and/or small groups outside class is only allowed for exchanging the relevant ideas and vocab/expressions before and during writing. You may collaborate via Skype or face to face if you are physically in one place such as your favorite Starbucks Cafe in Jubail or elsewhere.
Please also be reminded that this blog writing is a fluency activity; this means you need not worry about the grammatical or spelling mistakes you may make. Rather I want you to be focused on writing relevant ideas to the topics at hand and expressing your own voice clearly to reach out for your audience who may be any cyber reader interested in blog ESL writing.
I hope the training session we held last week helped everyone know how to login the blog and post his writing (via the comment button to my writing prompt). As you stated, you are familiar with blogs and blog writing and reading. However, this training session was important so that everyone knows exactly what is expected of him to do. The writing topics are related to our writing topics in the class and textbook (Unlock 3 Reading and writing). You will have three topics to choose one from for each week's blog writing.
If you still have any questions and concerns, please do not hesitate to ask me in class or via Skype or email.
I wish you a very interesting Summer Session and a pleasant blog writing experience.
My best,
K Layali
